“Spencer says that since forming in 2010, Seven Handle Circus has evolved considerably.

“In a nutshell, we’re harder, better, faster and stronger,” he says. “We’ve matured a lot as musicians; we are now capable of playing songs we wouldn’t have been able to execute two years ago. Building more intricate melodies and maintaining a sort of emotional tension adds a lot to the musical experience. We just play what we think will keep people on their toes, really keep the audience engaged.”

Though the band does stick to acoustic instruments, Spencer says the band’s sources of musical inspiration are far wider than bluegrass.”
