“Once the band hit the stage at the Windjammer, it was immediately clear why the band has received so much attention here in the Southeast. Whether playing an original tune like “I’ve Been Around the World” or covering Paul Simon’s “You Can Call Me Al,” the musicians functioned as a cohesive unit. Spencer, Vinson, and Bledsoe melded their respective voices into a gorgeous three-part harmony that gave me goosebumps. While they were all business when it came to playing their instruments, there also seemed to be a lighthearted mood onstage.”

July 25, 2013 – Chris Martin, Examiner.com

“The night began with Shawn Spencer of local favorites Seven Handle Circus (7HC). Helming the mic with his guitar he delivered a set of original Americana/folk infused tunes that stepped away from the bluegrass rock of 7HC. He won over the people that got there early as he belted out his tunes. Included in the mix was a sweet cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Only Living Boy In New York”. Spencer’s performance was a departure from the high energy live shows 7HC are known for but it was every bit as powerful.”

“Their complex melodies and energetic style can be fast and furious, almost manic at times, creating a musical tension that ultimately resolves in an overwhelming sense of merriment.”
