“Spencer says that since forming in 2010, Seven Handle Circus has evolved considerably.
“In a nutshell, we’re harder, better, faster and stronger,” he says. “We’ve matured a lot as musicians; we are now capable of playing songs we wouldn’t have been able to execute two years ago. Building more intricate melodies and maintaining a sort of emotional tension adds a lot to the musical experience. We just play what we think will keep people on their toes, really keep the audience engaged.”
Though the band does stick to acoustic instruments, Spencer says the band’s sources of musical inspiration are far wider than bluegrass.”…
“Their songs have the pop sensibility of Mumford and Sons and the joie de vivre of Yonder Mountain String Band. Folky three part harmonies filled the air as the Sideshow plucked their way through many original numbers, my favorite being “I’ve Been Around The World“. The opening guitar riff immediately grabs you, and the hook most definitely ‘brings you back’.”
“Passion for their harmonic take on modern bluegrass could be seen on each band member’s face……Their unconventional style and mature lyrics were undisputed crowd-pleasers…..”
